When I write for this blog, I struggle with how much detail to include and how personal I should get. Since this is a personal journal I shouldn’t feel squeamish about including personal thoughts and feelings (especially considering my last post). Yet as I will be including this site as part of my professional portfolio a line should be drawn some where I suppose.
I don’t have an answer yet just something I’ve been pondering.
Spent tonight reading the conclusion to a Ranma 1/2 fanfic that I remember starting to read years ago. I just learned that The Hearts of Ice story was just recently finished by it’s author Krista Fisk (formerly Perry). I enjoyed the story when I first read it almost ten years ago, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it had finally been wrapped up. In truth, while I enjoyed the story (Krista does have some real tallent as a storyteller) Hearts of Ice just doesn’t fit in the Ranma 1/2 universe. The Ranma 1/2 stories are primarily Adventure/Romantic Comedy. Krista’s story was big on action and romance with a lot of drama, but the comedy aspects were almost entirely absent. Despite that it was an enjoyable read that I managed to lose myself in for an evening.
